Transportation

Since no roads link Nunavik to southern Québec and the region's communities are all isolated one from the other, air and maritime services are of primary importance to Northern residents and businesses.

Kuujjuaq Airport Terminal
There are daily air services in Kuujjuaq since it has the largest airstrip in Nunavik . First Air, a subsidiary of Makivik, provides air cargo and air travel between North and South, while Air Inuit, another subsidiary of Makivik, provides air transportation between the 14 villages of Nunavik year round.

Other air transportation available in Kuujjuaq include Atai Air Charters, Johnny May's Air Charters and Nunavik Rotors. These air-charter companies transport business people, prospectors and hunters across the north on demand.

In the summer, fuel supply ships and cargo ships arrive between June and October, which are provided by Transport Degagnes and North Eastern Arctic Shipping, a partner of Makivik.

Friendly Air Inuit Agents

Tivi Transport is a local transportation business which can provide truck rentals as well as moving services.
