The Kuujjuaq Youth Camp
In the summer months, usually between June and August, local children have the opportunity to be at summer camp. The Kuujjuaq Youth Camp is not far from the village. Old Fort Chimo is the original settlement a few kilometers downstream on the opposite shore from what is now known as Kuujjuaq. They live in the original residences that were transferred to the municipality in 1983 that have been restored since the relocation from the settlement. The camp offers its services to the community free of charge. Over the last 18 years of operation, the camp has welcomed over 2,000 children. Our goal is for children to have a healthy, safe and fun filled experience!
