The Hunter Support Program was introduced
to all the villages after the signing of James Bay and Northern
Quebec Agreement in the 1970's. This program was to be operated
under the new municipalities.
The Program’s objective is to favor, encourage and perpetuate
the hunting, fishing and trapping activities of the Inuit as a way
of life, and to guarantee the Inuit communities a supply of produce
from such activities1.
(Needs to be elaborated).
